I suppose a lot can be said about the positive effect of all those oil leaks that I "had"! I bet everything got well lubricated!

On most of the cars that I've been that far into rust is an issue at the shifter end of the cable.

Hello guys. Just wanted to let you know you were right about the shifter cable. I had it replaced about 2 months ago and it shifts almost perfectly (there might have been a plastic pivot to be replaced, but the mechanic found out about it too late).
