It's more of a personal preference but a quick search on Tire Rack shows the Avon Tech M500 to be a relatively good deal.

I think it's more of 'buy the tires I bought' than 'personal preference.' How often do most people buy a set of tires? Not very often.
Jedz, if you want a nice tire for cheap, I would look on Tire Rack at Sumitomo or Avon. I don't think they get much cheaper than Sumitomo, and they're actually pretty nice tires.

Check out Vermont Tire & Service in Montpelier VT toll free 1-800-639-1900. They also have a shop in S. Burlington VT. toll free number is 1-800-639-1901.
They sell Cooper Tires (Cooper owns Avon) as well as Nokian and a few other brands. Their prices are good and so is their service. I actually drove there one spring to get tires. I was looking for a weekend getaway and the savings from buying them there vs here paid for my weekend away. I got Cooper Cobra XST which looked identical to the Avon. They don't make that particular tire anymore. |

Check out Fuzion ZRi tires. They are made by firestone/bridgestone and usually go for $84-$92 for our stock size. I bought them and I have zero complaints so far. They ride smooth and quiet and seem to have very high cornering limits.
