One Fine Shift

Yesterday afternoon on the way to work, I pulled out from a complete stop onto a 55mph road in the rain. I pushed my foot to the floor when taking off, and as the tachometer made its way toward 6500, I prepared myself for the usual ho-hum shift into second gear. I'm not so thrilled about that shift. The car doesn't seem to grow its horns until somewhere in second gear at around 65mph. Well somehow it was different this time.

Do you know that feeling you get when you're doing 75 on the highway, tromp the gas, downshift to third, scream up to 6500, then drop into fourth and jump forward because you've hit fourth gear right below peak horsepower? Well it did exactly that between first & second gear yesterday, which was something altogether new and VERY pleasing. I made this sort of "what the hell was that/holy sh*t what an amazing car" face and slowly let off the gas so I didn't get too close to the fellow in front of me.

I am continuously amazed by this car..

I just replaced my back bearings -- you should see the look on my face and the grin that lasted for about 1/2 hour just driving around the block.

I still have that slight bearing sound from the front though
