Class Glass show quality hoods? PLEASE TOM!

Okay so I've been going through threads looking and the only really hit has been Old Tom and his "connections" with Class Glass. He mentions they don't do one of OEM fit show quality Cabrom Fiber hoods anymore. What if we got a group together and pleaded with Old Tom to do us a "favor" that we may oneday be called upon to repay(LOL). I know i just had stock hood stabed by my power steering resivoir cap and have been wanting a nice CF hood. Maybe even other bits they'd be willing to produce for us like fenders or door skins (fiber reeforced polymer would be really nice here) So who says we sould plead with Old Tom to give us a hand? I know I would. Only option out side of going to someone like Sebion or Carbon Creations of which we don't have possible connecitons too.(Or do we? Anyone out there have a connection for them?)

I pleaded once... but they said no. And I dont think enough of us want them for the guys to waste their time on it, I understand their point, the average SVX driver is OLD (lol) and carbon is just too newage for 'em

I think there's a common misconception that carbon is lighter than FG. Carbon fiber is actually heavier than fiberglass, but is stronger. So when you need strength you require less CF than FG, and the CF part is lighter (less layers of composite will be required in CF). But when strength isn't a concern (hoods, fenders, door skins...) minimal layers of FG will result in a lighter part.

Nope no bling. would be painted. I like Bourdeux Pearl better. CF is lighter aplication. it'd heavier by volume, but since it needs less layers it takes less for the structure. And finally fitment. F*$# FG it never fits right and warps easily. FRP is okay but I don't like the idea for a hood. Fenders and such are better for that. I mostly want a nice light strong hood that I can not have to deal with "cut" edges that aren't rounded with a smooth top coat like they should be from my understanging. I've seen AFBeekCake's hood and it's a disaster for a $700 rip off. If I know how and had the space I make one my self.

If you want one that has structure and you're going to paint it, how much lighter would CF be than the 19lb FG one???

Once I get some money I need to do something about my hood. At this piont I would switch back to a stock hood if I found one in the right color and condition.

Idealy I would like to replace my hood with a show quality FC hood.

They make HUGE decal sheets of CF pattern. Get the FG hood & the decal stuff. Yeah it's "ricey" but it's likely the only alternative for the CF look.

Its cracking on both sides of the scoop. There is a crack in the center of the scoop and one around were the latch is. For the almost $700 I spend on this hood its a piece of crap.

My buddy got one of only 10 every made CF hoods for his 98 legacy GT and it not only cost less, but its way way way better quality.

well iv tried heaps of shops over here to make me a one off carbon or fibre glass hood but no one keen to do it (i wanted a twin scoop setup like the monaro)
but looks like il be ordering mine in the new year from motorsportwarehouse.. (damn two big orders to be shiped ) 1st next week i hope. .
