Wasn't the Stage III SC $7500? Wouldn't that be the benchmark price for a complete STI 2.5L motor and ECU? In just a few minutes of looking around, I found a wide range of engine options for under $7500. Many under $5K. None of these seem to include a turbo, but if the complete engine is only $3K (FXT 2.5L motor), then there's plenty of money to buy a nice turbo and build the rest of the exhaust stuff.

Then you'd just need to get an stock STI ECU, build a wiring harness, and do a bit of fab work. Heck, now that I think about it, if I had time and an SVX handy (don't have either lately), I'd do the swap and then make up a bunch of pre-programmed ECUs, harnesses, intercooler systems, and exhaust systems for sale.

No and I am still right. There is now way for the Subaru DCCD controller to be used in the SVX. It will be virtually inconceivable to do it. An aftermarket controller can be used in any car with a pulse

Has anyone tried contacting these guys http://www.eastcoastswappers.com/ and they have their labor rates under the services page. It looks like they have done some nice swaps but not SVX related.

I think the guys who did the swap used the STi front subframe too. I wonder if this is easier than making the svx subframe work. I have been interested in this for a while but I would need a good bank account and a lot more abillity and knowledge.

I emailed East Coast Swappers tonight and asked if this was within their capabilites(looks like they could) Dont know if I will get a response before Monday as their hours are 9-5 Mon-Fri but I will pass on the info I receive.

I don't think the STi subframe would be needed. That would mean a completely different suspension that may not have the proper geometry for the SVX strut towers. Probably more of a matter of making a set of custom motor mounts.

I think that was one of the reasons they used the sti subframe actually.

I think it also saved them a bunch of fab work for exhaust, etc...

No you are not. I said a DCCD Gearbox not the early ones (2002-2003)... and NOT a DCCD controller
