I paid about $20 for red and black, 4-gauge cable and gold-plated ring terminals at Radio Shack.

Maybe it's mentioned in one or more of the links here on doing this mod, but it's worth noting that some recommend a fuse or fusible link be placed in the positive lead between the alternator and battery.

I found out that the connector rings I bought all had the same size holes for the 4 gauge cable, but I think I had 3/8" diameter bolt hole openings.........the bolt to mount the negative wire from the compressor needs to have a larger opening in the ring.....I drilled mine to open the hole.......Just thought you'd like to know.
