Low Mile Old Subaru

This came into Kerven today for service. The lady has this, a 1986, and she also has a 1990 Loyale with 8200 miles. She is 90 years old and wont drive anything but Loyales. haha.

The local dealership up this way has one identical to that one in their showroom. This one has something like 15K, and the body is absolutely mint, not a spot of rust anywhere. The color sucks, though. Makes it look like a big turd.

Mike Thanks for the pictures. Very nice to see for those who are not so narrow minded and need to be entertained ALL the time.

Any rust underneath? Top the rear strut mounts? Are the vaccum hoses rotting away?

Would this make her a loyal Loyale lover, or a Loyale loyalist?

I think it just makes her old.

Old people get like that - they buy more than one of a certain type of car so they don't have to drive anything else.

I got an old guy thats got a Loyal, he loves it, it's such a great car, it's a 3speed SPI, it dosn't do over 60mph! It's perfect for him.

I also have a customer with an 81 DL 4WD 3door that he bought brand new. The odometer stopped working at 438,000 miles and the only original parts left in this thing are the front and rear crossmembers, rearend, and ofcourse the dashboard to keep the right VIN#. It's rotting out it's second body and has about 150K on it's 3rd motor.

I don't know, but he says this is the last time he's going to save it from the grave, and then he had us rebuild the rockers again.
