Ok put in the filter
Ok, guys I put in the filter. The car feels more peppy. But I wanted to install the little screen, where is it? anyone have any pics? or diagrams?

Oh yea sorry. I put in the tranny filter. Now I am trying to find where that little screen goes.

I assume you mean by little screen the metal housing that has a metal mesh screen filter.
first you drain the transmission (about 6 or 7 qts will come out). then take the transmission pan off (more ATF will come out, be ready for about a half-quart) should be self-evident at that point. use a new pan gasket (should come with filter) |

LOl, I did that already changed the pan gasket and filter. But Trish at subaru parts gave me a little square mesh plastic screen. Its white in color its size is about 1" by 1" it has like a clip to hold it in place. I think it is called a "inlet filter"? not sure. Thanks

I didn't even know there was a filter there. Wow. Anyway, to get to that, obviously you'll have to remove the exhaust and propshaft, drain the tranny and then pull off the extension housing. It's fun. Get a gear puller, is my recommendation.
