I ordered a set for all four corners from AutoPartsWarehouse.com, only to get refunded for the fronts because they were out of stock.

I ended up ordering the fronts from summitracing.com, and then waiting for like 2 weeks while they got them in from the manufacturer before sending them my way since they're special order.

And then when I got them, they were in an old-ass worn box with different logos and stuff compared to the box the rears came in. My guess is the SVX pads are just sitting around at EBC's warehouse from a production run a while back, while the rears (since they're shared with Legacys) are being manufactured on a regular basis. So when you order front pads, you're probably getting pads that were made years ago... which sucks because the newest formula for the greens is way better than the older formula that used to be hard or rotors.

Aren't our front pads the same as a Nissan Pathfinder, though?

I haven't heard that, but I wouldn't be surprised since Subaru has shared brakes with Nissans in the past (the old WRX 2-pot rears are the same as the 300Z's).

But that said, I highly doubt too many Pathfinder owners are buying agressive sports car compound brake pads, so there's going to be much additional turn over on those pads aside from SVX owners buying them.

Re: EBC Brake Pads?

I hope the EBC Greens are good.

I just received a set, and haven't even put them on yet, for the Miata.

I just changed the pads and discs on the '05 Legacy GT, and have to agree, the stock pads are excessively dusty, with marginal to poor feel. It received Hawk HPS pads, which do better on feel, with no appreciable dust. They do squeal a bit, but I suspect perhaps it is an install issue when I put them in, and it is a minor issue.

I knew that SVX was unique in many hardware aspects, but I figured it shared things like brake pad specifications with other vehicles of similar specifications, like 300ZX, or something. Consumable parts tend to benefit from a bit of generalized interchangeability, to help keep maintenance costs down.

They are.
I've been using them for yrs on my mt. bike disc brakes and in my trucks.
They've got good bite for street driving and last awhile.

Down w/ brown, up w/ Green!

Old thread but...
I bought a set of ebc green stuff for the fronts a couple of years ago and the package said it was some Nissan pads, pathfinder maybe, I dont remember that anymore.
Greenstuff pads were good for my daily driving BUT those only last two summer!! (svx is my summer cruiser ) maybe those was only too soft pads for heavy car or maybe my rear brakes needs to some repair if my brake balance is poor.

Re: EBC Brake Pads?

You are correct re the Nissan Pathfinder - I forget the year, but seems like 1997. Re EBC pads. I use the RED pads. And entire autocross season (last year) and a couple of track days and I still have 1/2 the pad. I find just a bit of fade after really HARD use on the track or if I do a lot of trail-braking at autocross .....
