when i first saw the pictures... i really didn't like it... i thought it was a joke... but looking at them all now, I am really starting to like it. I also like how it will give subaru a "face". I just think that it actually flows pretty well... and knowing subaru, it probably does help performance in some way, shape or fashion.

Plus... a wrx with a 2.5 at 14.7 psi is just bad ass.

and the aftermarket will grow to be HUGE!!

Max boost is actually 13.5 in the new WRX, but hp is anticipated to be seriously under-rated and here's why:

The new 2.5L WRX has an engine with the same displacement, bore, stroke and compression ratio as the '06 Forester XT. The '06 Forester XT's official output increased from an under-rated 210 to 230 due to the addition of the AVCS (active valve control system), but max boost in the FXT is still unchanged from the '04/'05 models at 11.5psi. However, the '06 FXT is listed as having the exact same hp & tq numbers (at the same rpms) as the new WRX.

With all things being equal, if the FXT 2.5L engine makes 230hp at 11.5psi of boost, then the 2 additional psi in the WRX's engine would mean an increase of ~20hp. The actual hp figure may be higher still, as the 2.5L engine may make more than 230hp at 11.5psi of boost...

Hard to tell wether or not Alan is being sarcastic or not. I like the 05, but I might be in the minority or not. Have to see how public opinion goes.

Subaru is playing with fire with this new impreza. Can you see the difference between 05 and 06 impreza? it looks like the 06 is the non turbo version of the 05!!! I still love the agressive 05 looks...

Hey Alan, I'd take those altezzas anyday over a Camry-esque auto shifting Legacy...

Seriously though, the '06 Impreza styling isn't for everyone, but it's not like our SVXs are the most attractive cars to mainstream buyers... I guess the new imprezzas are quirky enough to suit my fancy.

I love the new direction Subaru is headed in... They are building a distinct brand identity!

Hey guys....we saw the new imprezza first hand today in englishtown. They had a white 06 STi sitting there near the subaru stand. I have to say that pictures do the new subaru's no justice. That car looks great in person....and i think that grill goes with the car well. The tribeca also looks good in person.....pictures just dont tell the whole story with the new subies.
