oh, not 5sp, hmm should check that then it could be serious does it check the same way the svx stock trans does?

any bad ground can contribute. As Harvey said

If the engine block is not grounded to the body, spurious voltages can return to the body through the signal wiring carrying control information to the ECU, to change the signals.

Re: stumbling idle and backfiring, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

how did your plugs look? were any of them different than the rest? this can narrow down your search to specific cylinders or problems. for example plugs with a pinkish color on the electrode means you have too many additives in your gas, yellow too much sulphur, etc...

Re: stumbling idle and backfiring, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

The battery was completely done, luckily it was still under warranty. It also cleared up the idle a little, although the improvement is barely noticeable.

Re: stumbling idle and backfiring, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I seriously recommend to get something like the ECUtuner - you can see most of the critical readings in real time while you drive (have a friend with you to work the lap top).

Takes a lot of the guess work out if you know what's going on.

Also, I unplugged the O2 sensors today and it didn't run any worse or better, nor did it throw a check engine light. WTF?????
