How much trouble will this turn into? (Rear Differential)

Well it's done now, I got it back yesterday after more inquiry to reassure myself it was the differential and not the transfer clutch (though that did sound like a good theory). And there was some value to getting it done nearby and quickly.

But yeah, definite lesson learned here. I'll commit more slowly in the future so I can get more information first.
