Re: Fulltime 50/50 split

If you did this mod, and then disconnected three of your sparkplugs, you could turn your SVX into a Justy.

Re: Fulltime 50/50 split

Just curious, if this were done, is there any reason not to leave it in 50/50 all the time?

Yes!
It's hard on your drivetrain, it's hard on your tires!
It is not allowed to perform as it was designed!
It does not handle on paved roads as well.

Seems like it may be very usefull if you were stuck in the snow, but that's about all I can see a use for.

Re: Fulltime 50/50 split

We have a beach you can drive on here, wouldn't this "switch on" mod work for soft sand as well, maybe even our crazy rains sometimes?
I like the idea of being in full control, and I mite just do this mod, only because you can switch it on/off as needed
However, any insight from the good ole techs around here? Of Course having it on all the time would wear the tranny down, and your tires... but being switchable... any foreseeable problems?

I had it switchable untill a few months back.
If your trans is working properly, its 50/50 any way.

Re: Fulltime 50/50 split

I would be very interested in this, but I don't plan on having the slushbox in my car much longer.

Re: Fulltime 50/50 split

Besides the wear and tear on components, your gas mileage will drop significantly as well...

I assume this mod would be more for the Tokyo drift type of drivers.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm not sure about 50/50 in manual mode but I do believe it is 50/50 in "1" or "2". could be both
