Best Website to buy Toyo Tires?

I have dealt with discounttiredirect.com before and have had a good experience with them. However, I am getting ready to purchase a set of Toyo Proxes4 in the near future (DTD does not carry Toyo) and was wondering if anyone has a good suggestion for a reputable retailer for that particular brand.

Suggestions?

Thank You!

Thanks Larry.

I'm calling around today to see with what I can drum up locally. I won't be making the purchase for another few weeks.

$83/tire for 225/50/16. I ordered a set of Proxes 4's for my Talon from them. Great price and they ship pretty quickly.

www.treadepot.com $93 for 225/50/16 with FREE SHIPPING. So its about the same as edgeracings $83 apiece plus shipping.

Not a bad deal...

Can Nitrogen gas mix with regular air from the gas station pump?

Yes.

It would not be a problem, there are no incompatibility or mixing issues. Remember that ordinary atmospheric "air" that the gas station pumps is already approx 4 parts Nitrogen to 1 part Oxygen.

Several benefits.

The first being that Nitrogen's properties are different from Oxygen in that when it gets warm (from hard driving for example), it does not expand. Thus, you can set your tire pressure, and it will stay that, whether you're on the track, or letting the car sit in freezing temperatures.

The second benefit is that Nitrogen molecules don't seep through rubber, as Oxygen does. Thus, you are able to hold a more steady pressure for a longer period of time.

And lastly, Nitrogen is an "inert gas". This means it is not flammable, as oxygen is. For this reason, Nitrogen is safer, and used on most competition cars, such as NASCAR.

So to sum it up, it holds pressure better, and doesn't go "boom" if something bad happens to the car.

Re: Best Website to buy Toyo Tires?

I really like Town Fair tire shops, they'll match any online price for any tire and they'll mount and balanced used tires for $13 each. The did all 4 of mine with a 4 wheel alignment for $70.

Hehe. Revival of an old thread....

I ended up purchasing from edgeracing.com and was very pleased with them. For only $83 per tire, it was an unbeatable deal!

Re: Best Website to buy Toyo Tires?

I have purchased two sets of these tires from edgeracing.com since I updated this last for two different SVXs and was pleased again with fast shipping and good communication, however the price went up roughly $10 per tire.

Re: Best Website to buy Toyo Tires?

Have you checked out www.tirerack.com?? I was lucky enough to live by their NV distribution center and paid $62 each for performance Kumho's.
