Future Availability of Parts?

This is something I've been wondering: What happens as our aftermarket supporters hang it up on the SVX? It's bound to happen - Mychailo wasn't able to round up 20 people for his proposed suspension setup, much less the 30 that the company asked for. As demand continues to wane, any given company has the option of either ditching a product or jacking the price. Neither of those should interest us!

Has anyone in the community been working on development for, say, retrofit kits for more common suspensions? I've seen some one-offs, but there are several substantial applications for replacement or upgraded parts that might be advantageous to have available in a simpler form.

I didn't want this to hijack Crazy_pilot's STI Suspension Swap thread; I think that might be some of the forward thinking that I'm discussing, though.

Wish I was close to you all, I have a good rebuilder for struts that can tweak them (stiffness) according to your specs.

He can even start with a set of blown struts (of course without hull cracks or something)

I did mine, and I bet that I have the stiffest struts around... or maybe FAR

When I win the lottery I shall use my millions to fund the SVX aftermarket. Suspensions, engine builds, turbo kits, brake kits, carbon fiber bodies...And offer everyone AMAZING group buy discounts!!!

Until then I'll just make my credit card people happy by racking up more than I can really afford. I do plan on pursuing this suspension swap thing as far as I can though, either until I run out of money to do it (not likely since there isn't any huge investment) or find it to be completely unfeasable.

Our problem is that unlike some other relatively rare cars, the SVX just doesn't have the widespread acknowledgement that an aftermarket manufacturer would need to make something. There are no SVX's on the big stage, nothing to put a logo on that will be seen on TV...When a company puts together a limited production system, say a brake kit for a racing team, they don't expect to turn a profit, but the advertising they get by putting their logo on that car will be enough for them to put in the money to get it done.

Maybe I worded my question poorly... What I'm wondering is whether there has been any planning to make or design alterations or adapters so that common, current parts can be bolted in, instead of depending on Koni to produce and rebuild cartridges for as long as we own our cars.

As an example: What would happen if Koni called it quits? It would be pretty slick to be able to order up some WRX (or other?) bits to pop right in.

We've got transmission swap kits, and that's awesome. But, what of the regular wear items?
