Installing a child seat in the SVX?

I tried a search but as usual tons of threads that have nothing to do with the subject came up.

Can someone with the owner's manual or personal experience explain to me how to install the top tether on a child seat? I know the tether latch points are under the little caps on the rear speaker grills, but I haven't removed one to look yet because i was under the impression you had to have an extra part that I don't have. But I don't see the part listed on Subaruparts.com so maybe it just clips right in to something that's already there under the cap? (hope, hope!)

Thanks!

there is a removable piece in the speaker grill, that leads to a screw hole in the steel shelf. you just put a bolt in there with some sort of hook to attach the seat to.

Yeah if anyone has one they want to sell that would be great. Or if anyone knows the part # so I can try to look it up. I'm thinking they might even list it (part #) in the owner's manual since it was an optional item.

Wish I had a manual.

If he doesn't I think I do although you may just want to call the dealer. I think they are all the same for any subie plus if I remember correctly they are required to provide it to car owners.

the anchor you need are commonly found in the
center console.
But true, the dealer is suppose to offer them at N/C
to anyone who ask for them.
What yr is your car ? Because you will need another
metal clip to keep the belt tight if its a 92-93.
94-97 cars dont need that extra metal clip to secure the belt
but they will use the anchor back by the seat top.
Alcyone Girly knows more about this more then anyone probably.
Ive used a seat in my 92 for about 2 yrs.

Thanks Dayle. Yeah, the car seats all come with that extra clip to keep the belt tight, kinda a pain to install and the top of the seat still moves too much. I'll definitely see about getting the bolt from the dealer.

Cute kid!

Re: Installing a child seat in the SVX?

Does anyone have an extra anchor or two? Or, does anyone know if another model Subaru anchor will work in the SVX? Subaru dealer = no help.
