Question Stock CD player is having "Ejectile Dysfunction"

Mmk, I was gonna throw this in the technical Q&A but then I thought it doesn't have much technical depth to it for a solution, (at least i HOPE it doesn't).

long story short my car is a '94, entirely stock with 53k miles now. The previous owner was an relatively old man who pretty much never used the cd player, stuck to his favorite cassettes, the radio and that was it. So it's not like this CD player has been worn to the bone by any means.

Anyway, I've spent the last 3 weeks with a CD stuck in the player. The motor seems to attempt to push it out but you can only feel the CD about a milimeter or two coming out of the slot, not nearly enough to get ahold of, even with tweezers. When i attempt to push the CD back in with a fork or similar object, it refuses to accept the disc, it just tries to eject it and gets nowhere.

It makes an awful little clicking noise as it tries to force the CD out when i hit eject. Unfotunately, the CD is far enough in that everytime i start the car it goes through the painstaking process of trying to force the cd out, going through about 4 cycles of about 10 clicks before giving up. (but the radio and cassette still work fine) This happens because the whole system gives priority to the cd player when there's a cd present, so it happens anytime i turn the car on, not just when i hit the button.

I can live without a CD player for awhile until i can buy a new head unit, but it's the sound that's really driving me bonkers.

help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll admit I didn't do a thread search before posting this, but I just wanted to get the specifics out there first.

And if this ends up being moved to Tech Q&A anyway, i apologize for being dumb.

thank you in advance

insssert dental pic w/ hook perpendicular to axis of entry. rotate 90 degrees and pull. itt should catch the hole in the middle off the disc when inserted above the disc and allow you to yank it out. it'ss not pretty, but works most of the time. I usually pull out a warped disc and find it to be the problem not the cd player.

thank you much, i'll try this and see if it works, if not, there'll be some more questions on here

EDIT:

Mmk, thank god i finally managed to get the CD out, i ended up using a pair of tweezers that I bent into a hook, worked great after a few attempts.
I inspected the CD and it looked fine, no visible warping that i could notice.
But then i grabbed a blank CD to test and see if the motor still worked fine...it didn't. When i put the CD part way in, the motor would activate to try and suck the CD in, but it couldn't get a grip on the CD, it just tried and then gave up. Itried it with a few more CDs and the same story, i'm guessing all that may have damaged the insides slightly so it couldn't grip.

oh well i'll be getting a new unit in a month or two, and at least the clicking noise is gone now.

has this ever happened to anyone else?

...And to think I knew that was cu-- oh wow way to go geez! making me spurt my innuendos all over the place!

just remember, it always pays to wear protection, especially when you're not sure where that slot's been!

this is soooooooo not family friendly hahaha something more along the lines of "family-making" friendly,

yeah, that's the ticket.
