I voted for the SVX, and probably would have even if I owned an Impreza!

Tack on another vote for the SV(se)X

i'll admit the girl had my eye, but c'mon, there's no originality in picking an impreza.

Voted for ya Bill

Gotta say though, serious curves on that white WRX, she is sure to muster up stiff opposition.

ANYWAY, my car is in the running. I somehow managed to get it into the June '07 issue and so now I'm a candidate. I just checked the site today and I don't see where you can vote. But, once I find out when the "Voting Booth" opens, I will update this thread. Obviously, I would appreciate your support!

My plan, if for some reason I actually win, is to convert the write-up into a SVX Community article and not just my car. My car is nice and all, but it only has a Stebro Exhaust and no additional mods. I'm hoping to use what leverage I may get out of a victory to open their eyes up to the whole group.

Wouldn't it be sweet if we could get, say, SolarSVX's car on the cover? If that doesn't stop them from being ImprezaSport Magazine, nothing will.

Because there have been at least two other SVXes featured in Reader's Rides besides yours. But they may have been in 2005-2006. One time the editor even added the note, "We love SVXes, so we have to publish the picture any time we get one."

There was even a several-page feature of 4 separate articles about the SVX a couple years back, including a small picture on the cover (one of those extra bottom pictures, not the main cover shot). It was sort of an SVX 101 for all the readers that may or may not know about the SVX. Good articles and featured a few members of the forums here. Strangely, they were all east coast guys, even though Subiesport's headquarters are here in the NW (actually about a mile from where I work).

Anyway, they probably figured with that article they got their "token" SVX coverage for several years.

BTW, I think they still list our forums here in the section where they list all the Subaru clubs and web sites.

I agree though, it is way too Imprezza-centric. But that's where the money is. There are thousands of Imprezza owners out there that would stop subscribing if there was too much old-school love in there.

Mine was in one of the '06 issues. It was about a month before the 6mt. But either way I'm over Subiesport, I'm tired of reading about imprezas.

Yeah I remember that now, I think your impending 6mt was even mentioned in the write-up. So this probably is just for 2007, like each year they do a best-of.

I think the SVX could have a slight chance. I know the safe money unfortunately is on an Imprezza, but since there are so many of them in the running they may split votes out among all of them. Where as all the SVX fans will be focusing all votes on one car. Of course, even if 100% of all SVX fans voted, that probably still only equals 1% of the Imprezza crowd.

Thanks for the support!

Really appreciated. BTW, the wheels are now facing the right way. Had them turned around when I put new Michelin shoes on. Mine is definitely very stock. The only upgrades since the write-up are the Stebro Exhaust and Polk Audio Speakers all the way around. Windows get tinted this month.

Also, the only hood ornament I would have been able to supply would have been my wife, who, being several months pregnant, probably doesn't have the curves in the right places to attract all the young whipper-snappers.

Finally, should I by some goof, actually win this thing, my goal is to persuade them into a SVX community article.

Thanks again!
