Our racer is now [---] this much lighter...

This is just the part of the Rear Harness that was no longer needed. I still haven't touched anything in front of the passenger floorboard. Weighs in at about 8 lbs.

As part of getting ready for this I made up some pin out diagrams for the 5 connectors used to connect the front and rear harnesses. It's in my locker.

Dave,
Nice! Are you eventually going to hand wire new harnesses for just what you still need?

No, I still have all the essentials in place in the rear harness;
Tail lights
Fuel Pump and resister/modulator
Fuel gauge sender
Shift lock wiring

All the rest of the rear harness is gone.

Next step is to perform the same procedure up front under the dash.

Ben was a little pissed when he saw that I pulled out the speaker wiring, I suggested that he gets a helmet with the speakers built in

I hate you.....

(j/k.....just jealous! )
you guys racing tomorrow? Chike and I will be hitting the last FedEx event of the year tomorrow (Chike runs right before lunch, I'm running right after lunch). Got the driver's seat lowered, flexplate replaced along with two new alignment dowels, and replaced the starter Thursday (PITA!).

What, can't hear you. No we're done for the year (aside from GRM which we're being picked by a local 2xer to finish in the top 10 on the GRM message board over there). Still working on a NOS system but if the 02 winner and 04 3rd placer comes through with a kit we'll be running with another 100hp which should easily put us into the 12.9 catagory (as low as we can go w/o a cage).

Only thing on the schedule is hopefully a Rallyx for the XT in Nov. if I'm feeling good enough after getting my gut sewn back in.

How long is this flex plate gonna last?

Gut sewn back in? what have you been doing?

This flexplate will hopefully last a while...replaced all four flexplate bolts with shouldered high strength pieces and went with long 10mm alignment dowels that actually stick back through the bellhousing a good 1/4 to 3/8 inch (so you can easily see that they're still in! ). Young Tom said he's going to get me two of the extra lower studs he's got lying around, so I'll be able to glue them in and bolt the bottom up as tight as it should be (using a bolt and a double nutted stud right now, both of which are probably 1/2 to 2/3 as tight as the spec calls for ). It will be interesting to see how my times stack up against Chike's tomorrow .
-Bill
p.s. any chance you two might be up for some 1/4 mile gatherings in what's left of the season? Old Tom is supposed to get his new s/c in ~ week and it would be very cool to have the RaceCar, Battlestar, and both Tom's s/c cars at the track (Mason Dixon?). Might even let Chike show up -- if he asks nice
