Is mine the only exhaust that's entirely welded into place or what?
How are people removing their center cats...

uhh...i think that u have a problem but there are 6 bolts and springs holding on the center cat and the muffler is connected by one bracket with a 14mm bolt, then the front 2 cats are welded to the exhaust pipe.

yeah, you'll need to find an exhaust shop or someone with a lift that will let you replace it. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea just to gut the convertors, as that would give you a 1.78 ( i think) pipe into a 3 inch or so, then back to the 1.78 or whatever, that might not be a good thing. I am going to simply replace all of the piping with 2.5 or 2.25 inch all the way back into the stock muffler, then eventually replace that with a flowmaster Dual in/ out to create the true dual exhaust, which i really look forward to. I think the stock SVX system has good lines, but with that small of pipe, there has to be some power hidden in that.

Replaced Resonator
My Resonator was causing some nasty sounds in my exhaust so I replaced it with a glass pack, and with my after-market muffler, my SVX now has a subtle throaty sound, kinda like the 350Z's.
It's funny, when I first got my SVX back in high school I wanted the exhaust to be much louder than the stock exhaust, but NOW I like that my exhaust has a more quiet roar. Acceleration sounds so lovely!
