WTB Cheap Justy for a great project
I know it's not SVX related, but I also know there are a lot of Subbie freaks here.
I'm looking for an inexpensive Justy. It does not need to be running. The kids and I are considering a Grassroots Challenge project- a rear wheel drive SVX powered Justy (a Subaru version of the SHOgun!) Any leads would be appreciated. Would prefer to trade for parts off my '95 SVX (sorry, no tranny).

Holy snapping axles Batman!
I have 3 Justy's. 1-1988 4WD (needs engine & frame patching) and 2-1993 4WD. All are rusty.

I'd love a rust-free example, but probably won't find one for Challenge budget prices.
Hmmm, let's see. It would depend on what kind of rust. Structural rust could be gotten around- this little monster is going to have to have a pretty significant cage for structure. Rear fender wells also wouldn't matter- it would have huge fiberglass flares which would hide most of the fender. Floorpans are probably debatable. The rest of the body would need to be repairable with minimal effort, but the whole thing would get a paint job before complete, so some patching would be possible. The price would be the determining factor. The bigger problem at the moment might be Winnipeg. That's a long way from Georgia! And GRM makes me count transport costs in the budget. I've got car hauler buddies who can bring a car from West to East cheaply, but getting connected to God's frozen Chosen and through the Northern Border Patrol might be a little tough! Thanks, Earthworm! Anyone a little closer?

Yep, we've been racing her and tuning her. Her most recent appearance was at the Subaru Challenge in Atlanta.
Lost about 200 more pounds, full open exhaust, prepping for a roll cage. Haven't had many opportunities to drag race, so nitrous work has been put off. She'll be returning to the GRM Challenge in April. Shooting to run 12's. Of course, the main goal at the moment is to maintain the build budget under $2005! I'll be putting together a more in depth post on her soon. It looks like she'll be getting a feature article in a national magazine!- We're really excited!! I'll keep you posted.

Great! How did you end up "finishing off" the interior after gutting it? So, what weight is the car at now?

Still in process- still unfinished (probably remain painted metal).
Haven't been on the scales in a while. I'll let you know.

My 88 Justy floor panels are quite good. Better than one of the 93's. The interior on the other 93 is near perfect including the floor mats. It also got a new fender.

I found a very nice 1989, but would prefer a 1st gen ('84-'88).
Anyone?

Unfortunately, I don't think Winnipeg has gotten any closer to GA.
