I really don't see the problem.
Name one valid organization in which one of it's "sleeping" members has named himself after the base concept of the organization itself and was hailed for it.
That person would appear to be making themself appear more important to the organization than they actually are.

Using an ancient join date with a somewhat ambiguous name based around the unifying concept of this site, one could be fooled into thinking you hold some creative or political weight on the forums. If you were the admin or some awesomely contributing SVX guru, then it would be fine.

But you are just some random guy. :|

All the ones I listed before qualify.

That point I understand.

I do plenty for SVX owners. Now that it has been said, does that make it ok?

As for me being a random guy, you are spot on with that. Newsflash amigo, so is everyone else here.

So get off of your effing high horse like you are someone special. Don't start a flame war with me. And don't start e-thuggin' here. That stuff won't fly. So knock of the "my parents didn't love me so I have to overcompensate on an internet forum" skit.

Have a nice day

Wow, you read me like an open book.

It's not my call anyway. My argument is out there for everyone to review and come to a decision upon. Obviously if your name changes I will have been ignored.

So don't get too upset about it. This debate is even more pointless than the name you have chosen.

NoName - 4 out of 13 posts are about your name? This site is dedicated to SVXi, not what name you want to try to get past the gatekeeper (Earl).

iced_out_svx - I think the only person who should be allowed to have the name SVX would be the site's originator.

Ultimately it's up to Earl to decide on the names, but I definitely support NikFu and his proposal to ban certain names. I'd like to add the banning of certain ideas and ideals so no one would even think about requesting a name like Killa*.

Just my $.02.

Dan

We should define the context of banned names to only include concepts of "killing people" and verbose expletives. A name like "Thread Killah" "Deer/Beer Killer" "Disco Funkin Joe" "GimmeOneMoMoFo" would be alright, because they are harmless.

Freedom of speech allows almost anything. But this network is not a democracy, and has been accepted as a G rated site, and the Admin's hold the rules. They have their ethics which we have agreed to abide by. I'm proud of all the decisions our admins have made, whether I personally agree with them or not

So I'm willing to leave all these decisions to them, however I may still comment.

I'm not really comfortable with MoFo, cause absolutely everybody, including the younger kids, know what MoFo stands for.
Funkin is a tougher one, with disco near it, its cool. Without, well, we all know what it means.
Killah is probably ok as long as you don't refer to people, or cats, or for some, even a tree.
The gaming industry has adopted the term Frag instead of Kill just to get a lower rating on their games, and therefore a larger client base.

As for Noname, I don't care what he wants his name to be, I guess I wish I thought of it first: I did a search on the name he wanted and for the most part I assume its just a handle for several ID's on a few forum's but I did find the name to also be a .zip file with a virus(or trojan) attached to it, fyi only, noname.

So it appears that some forums don't care what your handle is, others don't even check, and some try to maintain a little more G rated environment.

a few more of my cents worth.

Tigershark would like a change to Royal Tiger, as since I'm no longer pursuing a 928 (commonly known as the Shark), it no longer fits. I have decided on a 968 instead. Thanks Earl. It's also very close so there will be no confusion with the new name.
