The dealership wouldn't let my friend and I test drive a Trans Am (even though he could have bought it right then), but they were cool with us (2 19 year olds) taking a GTP out on our own, even though it costs marginally less. We could easilly get the tires smoking, just hard to keep 'em straight.
FYI, the new neon SRT4 doesn't have torque steer, even though its FWD. How? Equal lenght driveshafts.....

I think the RAM AIR Grand Am's have the higher performance engine (175HP as opposed to 170HP)

you cant compare it, it has a limited slip coupling that is what is really making the differnce. the open coupling is what makes it pull like a *****. trust me i had a 300hp eclipes GST with an open diff that would pull you into the next lane on full throttle if you let it

Actually, the SRT4 lacks a limited slip.. if it had one, it would have beat out the Mazdaspeed protoge' even more badly.

I got to talking with the salesmen and he was freaked out when he saw my car was mt. I guess he had one. He was a corrodo guy though

The SRT4's are out?

They're out at the dealerships allready!? I didn't really know when they were gonna' show up in the showrooms... mainly because I didn't care much. I think they are a great bang for the buck and I love that it's a domestic. Hopefully I'll see one to take for a test drive, just for fun... not my style to own, though.

No torque steer, huh? I would think it was basically impossible to get rid of it completely... but if they did then I give them props for it.
