Can you tell me where your power and manual switches are located? I want to see where I can put the power switch location.

If you have a '92 owner's manual, on page 6-9 there is a diagram, OM-4779. It points to the Release button on top of your gear-shift console, just above Park. Well, at the bottom of the console, just below 1, there is a slot, probably blank on yours. In that position I have a switch marked Power. It locks on the Power mode. I have no doubt if you send off to some of the Japanese places, they could get you one from Subaru Japan. Paddlesnz would help with the info. The lower button on the actual lever puts the car into Manual mode, but I suspect yours is the same. That is an anti-slippage mode for poor grip conditions, keeps the box in higher ratios. Joe

it was fast but I still believe that power mode and a good high Rpm shift is still faster. for some reason i don't think using manu is faster I think its actually slower but it shifts at a chosen RPM where the auto mode varies rpm

Manual motion
In theory, shifting according to the box's "Manual" map must be slower, as it shifts up quicker.
With the box showing "Power" on the dash, if you physically shift the lever from 1 to 2 and so on, you should get a little more speed, if you don't break something. Better to let the box make the changes I think. Joe
