Thumbs down Back To Reality!

Hey Guys...

Well after 6 months of my car being incapasitated...with a bad auto tranny..the 5 speed has now been complete for about a week and a half. Within that week and a half I have raced many different cars at low speeds and high speeds...none of which have been Viper's or NSX's...and I have been victorious each and every time. Now everyone say that the 5 speed is faster than the auto and I would certainly agree with that but beware...us with SVX's still do not own race cars . We were on the thru-way tonight and we were around 75 mph in my left mirror I saw a suspecting car. He flew up next to us on the left hand side and stayed even for a moment. I looked over to my left and he gave the notorious "head nod" so I agreed. I dropped it into 4th which at around 75 mph the engine was at about 4500 rpms. We both nodded and gassed it! We were even for about one half of a second then he pulled away! Damn it!!!! He slowed down and we evened back up .. we did it one more time same result! What kind of car was I racing you ask?..... GOSH DAMN 3.8 LITER SUPERCHARGED OLDSMOBILE AROURA'S!!!!!!!!!!!

Meg, the key here is: 3.8 LITER SUPERCHARGED.

call me a whimp but I only race when I know I can win. I do NOT race cars that have bigger engine than mine. I do not race with people that look like 16 year old kids - regardless of what they are driving. Well, come to think of it, I do not race with my SVX. Period. I used to race in my camaro against undercover cops in Chicago though and all I can say was those were fun time. I do not recommand most people to do that though.

There's no such car.

Oldsmobile Auroras use the caddilac northstar v8.

Buick Rivieras have the supercharged 3800.

Geez, Megan! It seems like everyone is installing 5 speeds but me these days Glad you seem to enjoy it so much. I can only imagine how much more responsive it must feel with the manual tranny

Stop biting off more than your SVX can chew! You're going to destroy what performance image our cars have.

The second generation use the 4.0 V-8 or a 3.5 V-6. None of the Auroras were ever supercharged.

To the GM supercharged list add the Pontiac GP, Buick Regal, and Buick Park Avenue.

svxchick, you can fix that problem with a 75hp shot of nos, i have raced corvettes at high speeds on the 101 with victories back to back. your not going to beat them all, but i believe the 3.8 super-olds would have been toast.

Maybe it was the Olds Intrigue?

in 1998 only they came with the SC3800 motor. Though i don't think there's a badge that says supercharged.

They do look remotely like the Auroras though.
