Help - I broke something.. maybe?

So I decided to replace the PS O-ring before overtightening my belt again. Got the res out without a probelm but behind it I see the two nubs that look like they should be attached. The only hose piece I find appeats to be one of the elbows I knocked off a couple of months ago when I replaced the PCV valve. HELP!!! should there be a hose between these two? can I get a generic hose or is this a funky subaru only bit?

Re: Help - I broke something.. maybe?

The vacuum diagrams look like there is an elbow coming out of the checkvalve, but does't really show it connecting to the other side, but I am guessing it does. I am going to pepboys to try to find a generic piece. The upper nub definitely had a pice of hardened hose cracked off that matches outer diameter to what should fit in the piece protruding out of the lower nub.. I'll match up inner and outer diameters and see if I can find a matching right angle piece.

Any piece of 1/8 hose should do it. If you want to be a real stickler you could order an OEM replacement, but that's not needed. I think I used a random piece of clear hose that fit when mine broke.

Re: Help - I broke something.. maybe?

Thank you.

Since you seem to be saying that the hose should run between those two I got a pice of vacuum hose that appears to be the correct size. That is a bit of a sharp bend to make with it though. Also the plastic insert to the other end appears to have a crack in it. I am going to use the generic hose temporarily while I order a new OEM hose (which I'm guessing has a formed elbow) and the plastic piece (which appears from the diagrams to be a check valve??).

Too cold and dark tonight to try to get it back together (I really need to get the XT6 out of my garage). I'll have a go at it in the morning
