short circuit under driver seat w/ ticking noise
it'd be great if i could fix this tonight
so few months ago, i fixed my automatic seat(bottom part) by getting a + cable from the back part adjuster! it fixed it but last night a really short person asked me to let her drive the car so i said ok and let her take the seat all the way forward. when i was moving it back for myself, it suddenly stopped and started making this ticking noise. it's a short circuiting that makes the noise as the whole electrical system stops on the tick and starts again one of the cables coming from the battery gets hot so i detached the battery and disconnected the wire i put in there but still ticks what might it be? isn't there a fuse?!

Re: short circuit under driver seat w/ ticking noise
There is a breaker underneath the driver seat that is for the seat, windows and sunroof. Did you bypass this breaker when you put in the new wire?

Re: short circuit under driver seat w/ ticking noise
not that i know of!
how can i reach the breaker? it's obvious that there is a breaker there that resumes the power each 3 seconds or so, and disconnects it again as there is a short circuit in the system! i mean i did a very basic thing on the seat...just a small wire from one switch to the other(the bottom switch was not receiving power from where it was supposed to get it from)

Re: short circuit under driver seat w/ ticking noise
i'm gonna write how i fixed it, just in case someone bothers to search for answers in the future!
there are 2 sockets in the back bottom of the seat which are for the power seat...detach those and the seat will be disabled along with its fuse and the short circuit... couldn't take the seat out due to the rubbish position of the seat before it stopped!
