new to the forum so HELLO

hi my name is chris i have a 92 pearl white svx just finished it up and started driving it two weeks ago. The car has 195k miles and had sat for 5 years before it got it. The previous owner never drove around anything but up against it I believe they parked it by ear. Anyways i bought the car cheap $250 and it ran and drove, that was a year and a half ago. In that time i have done a 5speed swap using the Small car parts basic install kit, an 04 turbo forester 5mt with wrx diffs, Spec stage 1 clutch 04 sti pedals and wrx shifter. And a subaru Momo shift knob. After that i swapped the engine out of my 124k mile parts car into this car and completely resealed it while it was out new timing belt, v/c gaskets, oil seperator plate, new rear timing covers due to broken bolt inserts,waterpump,t-stat ect. Then i added 97 grille which believe it or not is still available from Subaru bought mine 8 months ago. Then added Ecutune stage one chip with map switch in custom aluminum plate mounted inside ashtray. Most recently i removed stock muffler and replaced it with Flowmaster 40 series muffler and 08 sti exhaust tip also added cone filter with maf adapter and custom making under hood heat shield. Well thats it for now but many more upgrades to come i will keep you posted

Hello, Chris! Welcome. The previous owner of my car was a "park by ear" driver too. It's easy to get that stuff sorted out.

Re: new to the forum so HELLO

i love the ecutune chip it made a noticable difference i cant say it what difference it would make with the automatic trans installed but with my 5 Speed swap it definitely made a difference in the smoothness of power delivery. Now having said that the most noticeable difference came after the installation of the intake pod filter and exhaust. I could definetly tell that after the chip install before other mods it felt choked now the power delivery is very smooth all through the powerband and with the map switch i can run 87 octane fuel with no detonation and good power on that map.

Re: new to the forum so HELLO

Welcome to the forum! and to the SVX family! Hope you take good care of her! If you have any questions or need any help with anything this forum is definately a good resource as well as many of our members! Don't hessitate to hit me up with any questions you have either.

I'm workin on a few new things for the SVX that will be out soon hopefully. Had some delays, but hopefully no more set backs.

You have a couple of options now for engine management, Ecutune is definately a well tested and proved product, the hydra nemesis also shows a lot of improvement with base maps as well, and they've just recently released a new version with multiple stages for the more budgeted tuner who still wants the ability to tune their car and not be stuck with one map.

I'm in the process of getting mine upgraded to the new version and will be creating unique maps that will work with all the stages as well as more maps for those users who have intake and exhaust and other modifications.

I hope to see more from you in the future and all the things you do to your SVX! Welcome aboard!
