weird surging

My pearl started surging tonight, very odd...seems almost like it's starving for fuel...until I press the throttle. Then everything's fine
Only does it at very low speeds and only very light throttle...and only when everything is up to normal temp...
Any ideas folks?

Id say a possible TPS problem too, but id run a good fuel injector cleaner thru first, just because. Then if it doesnt help you can go on to other, less simple testing.

What brand fuel injector cleaner do you recommend, I never know what to get?

The one that has worked the best for me is the "Guaranteed to pass" one that you use before a smog check. Might also be helpful to run Seafoam thru the intake too, our PCV and EGR systems run a lot of crap back into the intake chambers.

tho only other thing i can think of is the maf is fighting with the ecu. check for cracks or leaks in the plastic between the maf and the plenum.

had this problem with my 89 celica... toyota dealer basically charged me $80 for three feet of clear packing tape... i was pissed!

Oh almost forgot, you should resistance check your coolant temp sensor.... when they go bad they cause all sorts of weird crap... including timing & mixture issues.
