Is this the start of the Aredub's gradual decline to "mod"ness!!!

Scott,
Mike Davis has made me an identical offer. I'm sure others will, also. No, I'm kinda digging the aggressive sound. It's kinda stuck between Muscle and Rice. And, since it wasn't ME who did the mods, I won't feel guilty.

As for the "title" . . . check my new signature.

Leo,
YES, the Konis ARE nice. As far as the GC coilovers -- NAH! I could find something better to do with 300.00 -- like buy a fender or a hood. The "perfection" will be done over time.

Unless somebody drops a few bales of 100.00 bills in my front yard, this car has been modded as far as it is going to be. I'll concentrate any extra money (as if I'll have any) on ridding the body of it's "ouchies."

Meanwhile, I forgot to mention that the Sunvisors don't droop and the interior (aside from the driver's side seat -- for which I have replacement skins ) is almost perfect (one small tear on the back of the passenger's seat vinyl). I'll switch the more pristine interior parts with my cigarette burnt ones (done by previous owner) so I can have a "Beauty" and a "Beast"

OH and this was worth the price of the car alone: I NOW HAVE THE SVX PENLITE!! (Does anyone know what size batteries it takes? It doesn't have any in it -- can't wait to "let my light shine!" )

SVX it's "All We'll Drive!!!" ,
I'll definately have to steal that and use it somewhere

on a very offtopic note, remember when you replaced your windshield wipers/blades with the stock ones(with wings?)

Do you have a close picture of that? I have no idea if my blades are stock or not.

not 100% sure what part number they are either.

Henry,
There aren't any "wings" (Unfortunately). There are little rubber "bumpers" that rest on the rubber "seats" on the cowling. That's how you know if they're stock. Part number is 8642PA060 for the Right hand assembly, and 86542PA020 for the Left hand assembly. The "assembly" comes with the blade and a refill. MAKE SURE, if you order them to tell whoever you order them from, to BE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that they are the SVX blade assemblies with the "little rubber bumpers." Otherwise they'll try to substitute blades from another Subaru model, of the same size, without the bumpers. The reason there are two different part numbers is because they are two different lengths. That's another way to tell if you have stock wipers or not is, they're the same length.

That is eerie - my wife's svx has the exact same problem with the gas gauge.

Also - watch out for that virus, my tranny infected her's in a matter of months.
It does come in very handy for troubleshooting problems with the extra car to swap parts from.

Congratulations on the 2nd svx - It is awesome sitting on the front porch and seeing 2 svx's in the driveway. Sometimes I pull mine out of the garage for no reason other than to stare at the 2 sitting side by side in the driveway.

Yes, I am sick.

So - whose is faster????

Once again, glad to provide comic relief!

Talk to nubs about the trunk lid. I'll keep it for you (either Mike, doesn't matter to me).

My single car garage is packed with 25 years of stuff, which FORCES me to have to see the two side by side all the time. Yes, it's a wonderful sight. Da Beauty and Da Beast.

I haven't gotten the car registered, yet, so, we haven't been able to run 'em yet. I'm almost sure "Da Beast" will be a little quicker with the performance exhaust.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that "Ding King" thing.

Has anyone actually used one of these things and can attest to its ability to honestly remove these dents? There is an annoying dent in the roof that needs to be popped out.

Meanwhile, I'm on the hunt for a Pearl hood and a Pearl Left Front fender. I'd really prefer to find the parts already painted with the Subaru Pearl. I'll take my time, though.

Randy,

The problem with all the ding removal systems is not getting the ding out. It is that the paint is compromised. When the ding first happens the paint is cracked. Most times you cannot see the cracks in the paint because they are so tiny. Our paint is brittle which only exacerbates the problem. Pulling or pushing the ding back to its original position continues the process of cracking the paint. The layers of paint on a panel act similar to the layers of skin on our body. They protect the metal against the elements. How long the metal under the compromised paint resists rusting Depends on how many layers of paint are compromised, how many paint cracks were made, how often you keep your car waxed, and what the weather is in your area.

Like everything else, the new ding removal systems have pluses, they are fast and cheap, and minuses, they do not address the cracraked paint problem.

So 'you puts ye money down and takes ye chances'.
