I shouldn't be on this thread!

Don't take four-zero too seriously, Viv. There are a few of us around here that would just love to see forty again.

Ron. (Well over 40; not that there's anything wrong with that).

No, I am not really taking it seriously. I had so much fun during these past few years that I forgot I am getting older
It doesn't bother me... I feel so young at heart. It was very nice meeting you at Lafayette, Ron.

You'll always be cool, Mike, if you stay outta' Indy in July.
You'll always be wise if you take time to listen.

Ron (Always the wise-ass).

Nonetheless, Todd, I admire your guts to tackle an engine job at the last minute that would have driven ME to buy a Cavalier.

I hope to see everyone again! Enjoyed your company. Ron

Happy Birthday, Viv. A mere child .

I made it a point to be where I wanted to be when I turned forty. Away from the maddening crowd. I was sitting quietly on a Florida beach surrounded by my lovely wife and children -- oh, and a cooler full of Coronas. Welcome to the "40 and over" crowd.

Thanks, Randy...it feels good to know that I gained more friends and experience thru this network during this past few months. The 10th Anniversary SVX meet in Lafayette meant a lot to me, that was all I wanted for my 40th birthday. I still talk about it to my friends. I guess they start thinking I am obssessed.

Happy B-day Viv.

You are not obssessed. Randy is. I am.

Many happy returns of the day.

Maybe the real question...

Okay, we all know we have an abundance of the over 40 crowd here, and now it looks like quite a few "kids" (all of which seemed to have paid for every cent of a $5,000 to $10,000 car by age 17 ). I know we have quite a few early to mid 20's too... How about LATE 20's to mid 30's? Those of us that were teenagers in the wild 'n' crazy 80's!

I turn 30 in a couple months, no big deal though...

Is it that difficult to believe? I can't say anything about the other "kids" you are speaking of, but I have a well-paying job and I was certainly capable of spending the $7500 for the car and related expenses.

Sorry didn't mean to offend, I was just giving ya guys a little grief in good fun. Certainly I may be a little jealous too, as when I was 17 (only 12 or so years ago) I had to work my butt off doing construction labor after school and 10 hrs a day for 2 summers to buy my first $2500 car and be able to drive it. I definitely applaud you guys that are doing similar and learning valuable life lessons and the pride of ownership. Your posts are evidence that you are proud of what you have earned, as well you should be!

Oh, and none of you take offense in the word "kid"... I think Lwin or someone had already used it in this thread and it is simply a good natured teasing term to clarify our younger members. The term is fairly relative as I'm sure the old codgers that post here so much would use it to describe me and anyone else under 40!

Thank you all...

I really love this site! All kinds of personalities, from all ages and walks of life with common interest brought together by this beautiful car called SVX. I'm so glad I'm part of this family. I had a wonderful birthday... old friends visited and took me to Bob Chinn's Crabhouse in Wheeling, Illinois. It's a great seafood place...I think I had too much Mai Tai...my head is spinning and of course I let somebody else did the driving on the way home.

I don't go to bed without visiting my online family here...and Michelle, you look great yourself. You and your car compliment each other. Thanks a lot for all the greetings...gotta go...these letters are dancing right before my eyes
