My not exactly was a result of the "slacking off" thingie.

Now I have to find out what a "troll post" is.

More help needed here!

The voltage regulator is part of the alternator I believe.

oh boy... You may want to have your current alternator rebuilt to higher-output specifications. You should be able to find a place that can do it by looking in your local yellow pages.

Edit: Shouldnt this be in the technical forum? All of these misfiled threads are going to make searching difficult in the future. Just what I'm thinking, anyway...

ok thanks

so all my problems (burnt low beams and fog lights, and the 3 dash lights that come on) are all caused by faulty alternator?

See this thread, starting on post 26:

or just start at the beginning.

The best and cheapest to get them from is Maniac Electric Motors They build them to order within 2 days and they are thoroughly bench and load tested under all conditions prior to shipping. This is the one I have and I cannot be happier!

The High-output 160A alternator, #13406HO160, is $248.00 outright and $188.00 with a $60.00 core return credit

It comes with the rebuilt voltage regulator, which is built inside the unit. No external parts.

If you call them one day, I am, sure they could have it shipped by the next afternoon. They are in Dallas, TX. Call Christian and see what your fastest option would be.

i ordered the high output amp and if all goes as planned i should get it by thursday.

it makes sense that the regulator went out due to the simptoms and burning low beams and fog lights

i stopped driving it so i wont fry anything else

only thing killng me now is why the bulbs went out....woudn't the fuses go befor the bulbs?

Current blows fuses, not voltage.
It appears that all these three lights work with the charge light, to signal an alternator/regulator problem.

Harvey.
