I'm not sure? they're not much heavier just from lifting them to mount them? Close to the same.

*paste from previous thread*

I swapped my wheels back to the stock ones, so i figured it might as well get a quick measurement of weight. The stock rim has the Continental Contiextreme Contacts 225/50/16 while the Murano rims have General Exclaim UHP at 225/40/18.
I basically used a bathroom scale that I stepped on first. Then I held each wheel while getting back on the scale.

The results are:

Stock rim with tire: 44lb
Murano rim with tire: 47lb.

Re: Pic's of my New Murano's

It looks very nice.
Looks like its starting to be a fad
I also got my wheels from Dayle.

I have real wide tires on, 245/45.
Yes they rub, but its actually the fender liner they rub on.
I need to adjust my camber a little.

Re: Pic's of my New Murano's

They look good though in general I find 18" (and larger)wheels not to be my taste on the SVX. I do think heavy/wide spoke wheels look good on the car.

Thanks!
The rubbing is due to the offset on these wheels being incorrect for the car. Nissan uses 35mm-38mm offsets on their cars. Subaru uses 55mm offsets. Their is lots of conjecture on whether this is a problem for the bearings (search is your friend) but the most prevalent issue is tires rubbing as the wheels don't fit in the wheelwell as FHI intended. For comparisons sake, I use a wider wheel and tire combination with higher offset (17x8.5" wheel, 48mm offset and 245/40-17 tires) with no rubbing even under heavy cornering (autocross). Others here in this thread make mention of changing the suspension settings (adding negative camber) to reduce the noise. This will increase your tire wear on the inside shoulder. I'm no fan of adjusting suspension out of factory recommended settings to make wheels that don't fit correctly not rub. Seems like a Band-Aid fix to a poor fitment issue to me.

huh? i don't know about real tall.
245/40 is only .5" taller than 225/40R18
but i'll grant you, that's why i'm waiting on my 225/40 BFG KDW's for my murano rims. Which i got for $100 total, off craigslist. which is good cuz the rubber's gonna be $800 mounted and balanced.

FYI a 245/40 is recommended for 8-9.5" rim. Murano's are 7.5"

Re: Pic's of my New Murano's

Don't waste your money on kdw's.

Get cooper zeon 2xs tires. They're like $100 a piece and they're very comparable.

Thats what i got and they're amazing.

At least look into em!

i've looked at a few different tires. i really like bfg's having some on my trucks. overall they wear gr8 and good construction.
i've had coopers too. but they're a lil noisier and grip could be a lil better, but wear is good.
i'm thinkin these are gonna be the last set of tires i'll be buying for a LONG time, considering this depression. these are summer tires.
i've got hankook ipike winter tires, which are way better than studded tires, on oe rims.

Re: Pic's of my New Murano's

Yeees those Murano rims look great. Good thing about this wheel design is, it doesn't look aftermarket. At least in my opinion.. I've had them on my car for about 2yrs by now. I don't hear any rubbing noise from rear. I heard it when my inner fender was coming off though.
