Re: Sov13t’s Engine and Supercharger Build

Very slick.

What are the holes for in the webbing of the intake manifold? they look like just open holes to the underside... any trick to the placement, or purpose?

looking very good, and extremely clean.

We had the block steamed when the machine work was done.

Yesterday I went over it with a wire brush, and an angle grinder with a wire brush.

Three big cans of brake cleaner, (non-ammonia) one spray bottle of Goo Gone "Painters Pal", three rolls of paper towels, and one can of Dupli-Color Engine Enamel

OT, good work. Very nice, shiny.
Clean up the background,
have this beauty with some nice
background scenery pictures.
post them on the 2010 calendar thread,
it might make it to one of the
drag racing calendar month in 2010.

Re: Sov13t’s Engine and Supercharger Build

Love that engine!!! I wonder why??

OT, here's a thought: How about an engine block that clean and shinny (without manifold) as an GREAT "coffee table". Now that would be unique, to say the least!!!! And keep in mind that this particular engine is ONLY in the SVX!!
Another "side-line" for you OT?????

Harry

I was going to say that as soon as I saw the black plastic breathers painted on the valve covers. Looks pretty good overall, not sure what to make of the manifold though...

Got to remember the primary goal of this are not looks... but performance. For now though, without any numbers its purely looks I guess...

The manifold and stacks were ceramic coated for better thermal properties... same reason why the holes are there. Intake temperatures are going to be important for us.

Yes, Grasshopper, as the intake charge temps go down, the tire temps go WAY, WAY UP!!!!!

They are the aluminum breathers, Mike.

SVXi had both black plastic and aluminum valve cover breathers.
As to the Ceramic coated intake manifold and stacks,
SHINEY, PRETTY!
