Northwest SVX 5 Year Anniversary Banquet April 12th!

Just one last reminder our Awards Banquet weekend starts this Saturday April 12th!
Things kick off at Earl's SVX museum up in Burlington at 9:00am, but you can drop by whenever. We'll check out his collection of 16 SVXes (or is it 17, I forget) and do some light maintenance on our cars if you are interested.

Earl will provide a BBQ lunch and donations are accepted to pay for the food.

Around 3:30pm, everyone at Earl's will gather up and convoy south to Lynnwood and The Rock Wood Fired Pizza. We'll meet up with others there at 5:00pm for our annual Winter Classic SVX show in the parking lot and it looks like we may have a record number of SVXes/owners (west coast record!) if everyone shows up!

At 6:00pm we'll have dinner in the banquet room and celebrate the 5 years of Northwest SVX with lots of memories and good times.

Sunday morning we'll get together again for anyone interested as we eat breakfast together before the travelers head off their separate ways. The Farmhouse Inn in Burlington at 11:00, or meet at 10:00am in Marysville and convoy up.

Everyone is welcome to attend any of these events, or the whole weekend!

Please RSVP as we need exact counts for everything ASAP.

If you are planning to come to Earl's and need directions, please let myself or Earl know.

Directions to the Rock are on our web page for this
event:

http://www.nwsvx.com/awardsbanquet2008.html

Hope to see you all there this Saturday!

Please check the sign up list below for accuracy. If there are changes or you want to add yourself, post here or email me via nwsvx.com. We need accurate numbers. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I can make it to the banquet, since it's at 6 and I get offa work around 3:30 on Saturdays, so assuming I don't get stuck in traffic I should be able to make it unless I have a normal work week by then, in which case I'll make it to the thing at Earls house.

According to Google Maps, it's 4 1/2 hours from Corvallis to Lynnwood. You would have to double the speed limit the ENTIRE time to make it by 6:00 if you left at 3:30. You are welcome to drop in a little late, but keep in mind that's a long drive for a couple hours of meet time.

I'd shoot for the day off. Drive up Friday evening, stay at a member's house, wake up Saturday morning ready for a full day of hanging out at Earl's, the banquet, etc. Stay Saturday night, then leave after breakfast Sunday morning.

That's the main reason I asked Earl if he would be so kind as to host a gathering at his house and why we would do the Friday night/Sunday morning events - so that there would be lots to do for someone that has to drive more than a couple hours to get to the banquet. It will be a whole weekend of SVX overload and worth a long trip!

While we are on the subject, I know it is mentioned on the web page (which hopefully everyone is reading before posting here), but just in case anyone missed it. If you need a place to stay Friday/Saturday night there are a couple of us that have room. Just shoot me an email or PM and we can figure out what works best. I also can offer some names of hotels near the banquet.

Yeah... The Google Maps time is a bit off, considering I made it to Bellingham in 5 hours in my old slow diesel truck, but I will try and get at least part of the day off so I can make it, I'm going to talk to my boss tomorrow and see what the plan is, since I might be working M-F by then anyway. (and it'll be me and the Wife Unit comin up)

I'll be there for the whole shebang. But I'm not happy about it!

Maybe hondasucks and I can caravan. I'll bring my toolset up to help people with some of the more difficult maintnence items if anyone wants (brake band adjustment, headlight clearing, etc)

I would also be happy to help anybody install power mode switches, I bought a bunch of the pins required to interface with the TCU in bulk.

Everybody else will need to get a switch of thier liking, but YOU will need to buy a switch factory if you want to convert that fleet.

Keeping it updated...

List Update! Take a look and make any changes, I had to guess on some of this. We just need to keep track because the Friday/Sunday events will only get planned if there is enough interest, and for the Saturday night Banquet we need a fairly exact headcount ahead of time for setup. Thanks!

cruisen, Its the internet bro, everybody is an ass because they fall into the idea that they are anonymous.

I've been an ass a few times on here myself, nothing anybody freaked out over, and nothing that would keep me coming to a meet.

You really ought to show up, it would be a shame to miss an SVX owner who loves his car just because of a few harsh words on a forum. Your presence would improve the meet.
