Heated Mirrors
How can you tell that you have heated mirrors when they are off the car? I just purchased a set and the wiring on the mirrors are as follows: On the drivers side there are 3 wires going to a plug. They are, Blue, Yellow & White. On the passenger side they are 5 wires going to a plug. They are, Blue Yellow, White, Red & Black. Why are there 2 more wires on the passenger side mirror? Patrick said they came off a LSI car and said they all had heated mirrors but why the wire difference?

Plug them in and see if they get warm.

Do you have a switch for them. That would be the easiest way I can think of deciding.

Maybe two of the wires have snuck inside like a snail? I can't imagine that you could control two axes and a heater on 3 wires?

As a guess, they may both have come off an Lsi, but the driver side mirror is or must be non-original.
Maybe in a previous ownership the driver mirror was broken, and got replaced by an identical colour mirror from a lower model that did not have heater elements? Joe

Thats what I was thinking. That the heated mirror ( passenger)is the one with the extra Black and Red wire while the unheated ( Driver) is the one with only 3 wires. What do you think Patrick? Are you sure they BOTH heated up when you had them?

Is it the driver you say is noon heated?
I think there is a yard up north of here with an LSL, I'll take a look for you and get back to you, if so, I'll just buy it and ship it to you. Patrick

Yea. It is the Drivers side. The one that DOES NOT say " Objects in mirror are closer than they appear" .
