This quite apart from the obvious sly direction of Harvey's thread and lack of apology.

However, now that I have been made exactly aware of the general attitude of all here, I remain better informed. Thank you Birds, feathers.

Thanks Trevor

That is good to hear.

I wanna see more smilies round these here parts!!

The key as I see it is to reduce the electrical resistance of the wood. One way of doing this is to soak the wood in water. The resistivity decreases from around 10e16 ohms per metre down to 10e3 ohms per metre when the wood fibres are saturated. I have read that a well-soaked twig can be used as an makeshift HT lead. Care must be taken to ensure that the fence remains wet, which may not be a problem in Ireland. In drier climates, a better way, is to char the surface of the wood since charcoal is an excellent conductor of electricity with a resistivity of around 10e2 ohms per metre.

Thanks Phil

That all sounds a mite expensive, even if the average racehorse is worth a few bucks.

On my budget I would not need to electrify. A wooden rocking horse is all I would have in the corral. They don't jump much.
