The Tornado

Has anyone tried this thing? The commercial says it supposedly gives better gas milage and increased hp. My friends say it seems like a good idea, but they've heard it really does nothing noticable. Anyone know for sure?

I was thinking of trying it out too. But for like $70 I didnt think it was worth it. Keep us posted if you end up trying it.

If this is the one advertised on the Speed Channel, then I would avoid it. Their claims are absolutely absurd. You can't possibly stuff more air unto your engine by placing a restriction in the intake.

'nuff said.

Unfortunately, though, I'm not done.

This whole business of 'mixing the fuel and air better' MAY be true for carbureted engines, but I doubt it. It's certainly not true for fuel-injected engines, which mix the fuel and air inside the cylinders. Placing a 'Tornado' inside your intake duct, before the throttle body, before the intake manifold and before the valves, certainly doesn't create a 'fast-burn swirl effect' inside the combustion chamber.

Question why

why it didn't work on your friend's SVX?
why some of them don't believe in that?
why, if it doesn't work, they are still survive for the business?
why they can even expand the business in other countries, if it doesn't work?
for me, i have to test it and try it by myself and will know.....
anyone tried it before and it works as the ad says.....

if you want more air...

mr. p makes a good point, your only restricting the amount of air that gets in there. It seams to me that if you wanted more air to get up in there, you could go get yourself some nice PC fans and have those set up to get more air to the filter, maybe even put on inside the filter
