First of all, welcome to the forum.
Don't you have a Subaru dealership in Hungary? you can always go there for a checkup, or you could do a search in our forum (there is a "search" button below the "Welcome, Czellai." on your upper right side, click on it and put CODE 13, it will show you the threads having that code in..)
You can always wait and let some of the technical GURU's help you out.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Code 13 is for the Cam angle sensor - it indicates that's there's no signal from the cam angle sensor, BUT there is a signal coming from the crank angle sensor. (A list of all codes can be viewed here: http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/How-To/14381.bmp)

This definitely can explain why your engine runs briefly but then dies 10 seconds later.

Here's a thread briefly describing how someone fixed the problem:

Location of the Cam Angle Sensor...

Engine diagram showing location of Crank (#4) and Cam (#5) Angle sensors:

This is a pic of my former SVX's engine with the alternator removed. I've highlighted the crank angle sensor in red and the cam angle sensor in blue.

You should be able to get to them w/o removing the alternator, but you can eaily remove it to give yourself more room. Hopefully someone on this board can sell you one for cheap if you need to replace it (they run about $150 USD brand new).

Good luck!

No they are both crank sensors. The cam sensor is the one on the left hand side cam cover. This one is the same as the other Subarus, so a Legacy or Impreza will fit and work.

Subaruparts.com lists the blue sensor I highlighted as the the cam angle sensor.

Do you have a pic of the sensor on the left hand side cam cover?

Yes mate the blue one and the cam sensor on the cam cover, are the same part no. the red one is a different part no. Thats why there are only two part No.s

The cam sensor can be seen in the parts dia that you posted, also as part No 5. bottom right corner. Both of these sensors are the same as the 4 cylinder engines. The red one, No.4, is a new one, only used on the 6 cylinder engine.

Harv,

You're absolutely correct. They're two sensors labelled #5 in that diagram and the one on the bottom right is the camshaft sensor (part #22056AA030).

Here's the engine diagram for the 4cyl WRX showing the location of the camshaft sensor on the bottom right. This should give Czellai a better picture of where to find it (labelled 22056 in this pic):

The three sensors.

The Red one, in the pic. is our No. 1 crank sensor. It is the 'clock' signal, putting out a pulse every 30* crankshaft degrees. It is used for timing Injection start time, Ignition timing, engine rpms.

The Blue No.2 sensor, sends a set of pulses, which tells which bank of pistons are at TDC, 1/2, 3/4, or 5/6.

The Cam Sensor tells which of the pistons in the bank is on compression, so that Ignition is sent to the right cylinder.
