I called my local dealer to see how much they would charge, but they said they couldn't even get one for me, so they referred me to this place. It looks like they have locations all over California.

I think this is a 3rd party glass. The windshield seems to be tint free.

Hope this helps!
OK, here's what the network needs you to do. Call the place you got your glass and ask them what the NAG # is for the glass you had installed.. that is for "national auto glass #" and also ask them if they show any more available nationwide. Thank you in advance.

Just spoke with a friendly auto glass shop here in CA, they had no problem locating an aftermarket glass for SVX
They quoted me $308 for the glass alone, the manufacturer is Fuyao

They "quoted" it, but post again if they actually get you one.

But a new windshield (even the wrong tint) is better than a busted windshield

Cracked Dashes

We will start seeing cracked dashes on cars with these windshields installed. No coating like the OEM.

It’s still better than a busted windshield...put a sun shade in it when it's parked...
You guys sound like my kids, and only looking at the down side...come on, it's a great alternative to the $1000 the dealer wants for us budget minded SVXers…

Your assessment is wrong---we are not like your kids. Actually we are avid collectors and lovers of these very special cars and feel like we own a part of everyone of them out there. As you know, many of us are dedicated to preservation of this wonderful car. I have never seen or even heard of an SVX with a cracked dash and just made the observation that we will now begin to see them with these windshields. That actually makes me sad even though I fully understand the dollar factors involved. I guess that is progress.

once again lee.. you're wrong..

LOOK AT THE AUCTION.. these winshields.. ARE coated.. and he can get the bronze ones too if he has enough buyers to fill an order of 25.. attatched is some e-mail correspondence from the OWNER of the company

Thanks for the info. I will refer anyone to the SVX website if they need
further info regarding the windshield gasket, although most are probably
aware of the situation. I will be glad to offer a discount for a group buy.
There is not a lot of room at these prices but you can expect a 10%
discount across the board for a at least 6 or more windshields ordered at
the same time- even if they are going to several locations. I would say
depending on the size of the potential order and their locations I maybe
able to do more. Keep in mind if the customers are in states where we have a
distributor that carries several and they can be picked up, we will work on
a smaller mark up since they don't have to be shipped. If there are 3 or 4
people in a major metropolitan area that they can be shipped to- 10%
discount and obviously it is the same freight rate whether we put 1 or a few
in the crate.
If there is demand for the bronze windshield we can probably get the
manufacturer to run them but we would need at least 25 orders to do so.
Thanks again for the info.
Richard

Simple fix for that....one of those fold out shade thingies!

Anyway, What's the deal on Moldings. Tom and others have stated the molding and windshield are one piece. Saw a post that said any good windshield shop can make their own gasket. Done most things on the car except the windshield so just wondering what peoples experience is with installation.
