Bro doesnt like pearlie color

Hey everyone I gave my bro my 92 pearlie but he doesnt like white. He wants me to get it painted black, but obviously the jams wont match and its gonna cost extra to paint. How would the shop go about painting jams and under the hood? Wha else should I do? Anyone wanna trade for a ebony

Yes, this is a very delicate problem. After careful consideration I think the best solution would be for you to take the car back and give it to me

If it helps, you can call me bro.

Don't paint it, the Pearlies are the nicest ones.

You gave him a car and he's complaining about the color?

as the (proud) owner of a 92 pearlie i'd leave it like it is and tell him to get over it or sell it and buy him a civic. Pearlie is my favorite color SVX, i wouldnt mess with it if i had a choice. (i would like to paint mine sky blue with black top but i never will. But i bet i get flamed for suggesting sky blue )

Pearlies are the best. Take the car back and buy him a black one, a black Geo Metro that is.

Show Dirt?

Obviously your brother knows very little about the relationships of color and dirty appearance. The BLACK is much harder to keep looking clean and looking nice. Black shows EVERY speck of dirt and dust while a Pearlie has to be very dirty to really show. Of course the Pearlie does have a black top and trunk.

I also strongly support the job and paying for his own car option. He might appreciate it a little more.

Yes, i assumed the white portions would be harder to keep clean but now that i've had it a while (and lived this far thru pollen season in the south) i can tell you a black car is a ***** to keep clean. I just washed and partially waxed (more tomorrow, i ran out of light today) mine for 3 hours today and by the time i had finished putting the stuff inside the house there was already crap on the top. So now it will need dusting and polishing (yeah i dust my car). Water spots are also hard to prevent no black cars, i find myself outside using a water seal (silicon blade thing that gets the water off) before it ever officially stops raining to prevent spots on the top and trunk. I will never ever buy another black car (unless i decide i need a second Pearlie so i have a set. Or my BF ever finds his dream SVX which is black) I like the white for the most part it cleans easy, it doesnt show pollen to badly, and it stays shiny even when its filthy.

You want to come and wax a couple of mine? Or maybe 3. I sure could use the help.

This is very true, my Ebony never stays clean. Besides, a dirty pearly actually looks hot. I agree with making him get a job and buying his own car, you dont give an SVX to someone that wants to repaint it another color(sorry to all the people out there that have repainted their SVX's some weird color, but its true).
