STi Brakes

I'm in the midst of gathering parts for a 6MT swap and I have the chance to grab not only the R180 Rear and axles, but also the STi Brembos, front and rear. What I want to know is, if I'm already swapping axles, will the STi brakes bolt up, or will I need to change all the brake components with it?

None of us know FOR SURE about the brakes... I was working on that project, but I just don't have access to an 05 STi....

Well, perhaps I'll pioneer the swap then

My car needs new rear brakes anyway, so the fronts probably aren't too far behind, so I might as well... if they don't work I can always unload them. I guess it will depend on how much extra those parts will cost. Still waiting on a price from one of my possible sources.

To be honest while the brembos on the STi are nice,there are pretty much the bottom of the line brembos. The calipers are very heavy and there not single pice. Iam not saying that there bad, but if the person is charging a fair amount for them i would rather invest in some stoptechs or something.

Well, bottom of the line or not, they're probably better than what's on the SVX in stock form. And the big question is: will they fit/bolt up?

If I can mount a set of Stoptechs, I'd like to look into that. I know that Motorsport Warehouse says it stocks larger Wilwood rotors that supposedly fit, but that's only for the front. I don't Auto-X or hit the track ever, so I don't think I'll complain about bottom-end Brembos.

I appreciate the input though.

you are prob gonna need the rotors too if they even bolt up to the hub. many of us have been looking into this because if they bolt up, that opens up a HUGE aftermarket for brakes

Oh yes, that's my plan... rotors and calipers. I still have yet to hear back from the guy (they're pretty busy - they actually build and race Canadian rally cars). If they DO bolt up... *drool*

YES! They fit. You'll have to use rotors from an 05+ STi. The 22B brakes DO NOT fit (just for reference)
