advice for the newbie?

SO I am new to this world of SVX... but I know I drive one and I like it. My brother, who is in Iraq drives one, and unfortunately I am the mechanicaly challenged one in the family. My dad is also into them (we have 7 of them in our backyard), but he lives in alaska for 1/2 the year.

I drive a 92' that is pretty much stock...
OZ 17" Rims
Falken Low-pro's
Alpine Sound system, w/ 2 1000w 12"s
Limo tinted
And new paint job next weeked, WHOO HOOO! (Super dark Charcoal)

yeah so far only workin on the looks, but the next big buy is hopefully... exhaust, intake, and ECU chip...

ANYWAYS... When I drive my check engine light likes to go on and off periodically... Anyone notice this around 110k miles??

Also... when I say I am mechanically challenged, I mean it... So i was wondering what the removal of the Intake resonator does for ya?

no making fun.

If you're in AZ and have 9 SVX in the family, I think Dayle will want to get to know you, or vice versa.

Is your dad Earl? heh

110k check engine light is proably 02 sensors, check the how-to documents to check for codes. Welcome to the site and we want to see some pics and plenty!

Yeah the check engine light is most probably O2 sensors. Hows your gas mileage?

Wow! That's amazing.... you have actually bested Earl....

Anyway, welcome to the site and I hope that you can find the answers you're looking for.

p.s., I would love to coordinate a lower SW meet sometime..... we're getting more and more AZ and southern NV members

Has he really bested Earl? Is 7 the number in the backyard or the number owned by the whole family (of how many drivers?). E has 8 for one driver.

Anyways, welcome to the site, I hope you enjoy your stay.

Hi, welcome.

Do you have a digital camera? Or a scanner? I'd love to see a photo of all those SVXes lined up in your back yard. That would be so cool!

Phil.

Yeah I will try and do that... but not untill I get mine painted next weekend... ahhh so exciting.. as of right now, looks like crap, the paint is really burnt from living on the surface of the sun, (aka arizona)... Anyways... soon. The others aren't much for looks either... all pretty much covered in dust, and also have burt off paint... again, mostly there for spare parts for mine and my brothers...

Dayle runs a store called Motorsports Warehouse, which is basically the only vendor SVXes really have... He sells a whole bunch of SVX specific parts, so you should definitly pay him a visit.

Go to www.motorsportwarehouse.com and click on "SVX store"
