What Potholes ???

Optima Battery

How did you mount your battery? I do not have my OE bracket and I think the OE will not even fit without being at a slant. Can you mount it from the bottom? I want it to look as neat as possible.

Only if you want a repeatable performance (IMHO)

if you go to Summit Racings site (http://store.summitracing.com/)and enter battery in the search field, then click on Optima, they have a bracket hold down system made for their batteries.

buy it dinner first and maybe some drinks to loosen it up

I had to cut a small portion of the plastic oem case so that the negative cable could connect flush..the oem bracket on mine works fine with the red top optima

Boy, was I askin' for that! Weasel, when did you buy yours? I think they changed the design on the newer ones. They used to be flat on top now they have 2 raised sections that mess everything up. Lee, thanks for the link, Ill check it out now.

I got mine about a month ago..it has the 2 raised top sections..it appeared as if it might not go in properly ..but it did

The OE bracket fits the Optima red top perfectly. I had the stock one aluminum ceramic coated.




But I like this new custom-made billet aluminum one soooo much better!

That is sweet. I suppose it is a one off? Where does one get something ceramic coated? We have a powder coating shop that does small jobs, same process?

The website has various coatings, plus links to the price list. I did the aluminum ceramic coating. The battery bracket has been aluminum coated for almost 4 years now. There is enough aluminum so that I can buff it whenever I feel I want more shine. No problems whatsoever with the coating.

I think I paid about $35.00 back then, plus shipping,
