Is your SVX like this?

Hi all,

My SVX was sitting in the rain for couple of days.. and I had to check my spare tire one day. And I saw the spare tire room was half way filled up with water! I have no clue how the water came into there. Did you or do you have same problem like this with your SVX? I actually kinda have heard of this case long ago, and finally happening to my car. what would happen next??

Good thing ya live in L A Ryu. At least it only rains what? 2 inches a year or so there? Whenever I've found water in the car (not the SVX yet) it was leaking in around the tail lamp seals, or trunk seal.

My son's Integra's in the garage this minute with a big fan blowing air through it to try to dry it out. His is easy though from the looks of it, just a misaligned window, I hope!!

It's been raining alot these few days and past couple weeks. The other day I just did the oil change on the SVX. Took out the jack and everything....hmmm....my spare tire is like new and dry. No, lucky me, no water inside. I hope you can get your problem fixed soon.

Your query you posted got me to walk out to my SVX right before I typed this. It has been raining for the last couple days and I decided to take a look. What I saw was hardly a spot of water anywhere where the spare is. Perhaps it was a good idea I decided to drive the SVX in the rain.

Actually that was my second time seeing water in there. I dried up the spare tire room once, and rained again afterwords. I left my SVX outside for couple of days, and when I got back, as I have expected, that happened again. I still have no idea where the water came from because around the spare tire room, I don't see any path of water.
Yeah..I'm in LA but still rains sometimes.

look at your tail lights, if they have any condinsation thats where you need to start looking. BTW mine is doing the same thing so thats how I know. I did pull one of the plugs in the trunk to let it drain out.

Once I find out what's the problem, I will fix it. I have owned my SVX for about 2 yrs, and had many rainy sometimes really heavy stormy days. And finally happened.
The main change I and SVX had recently is.... we moved to a new place(still in LA) and sometimes I have to park outside under the rain long time, where before, my car was always kept inside.

Longer rain might have caused this problem. Was your car kept outside?

Maybe it was happening with shorter rain time, but dried up quickly so that I didn't see any water in the trunk.

mmm still I have no idea what's causing this!

Actually at the same time I first found the water in the trunk, that was also my first time I saw the water inside of my tail lights, especially driver's side.
Again, this never happened with my old place where the car was kept inside.

Thanks. I will check the drain plugs today.
