New SVX FAQ

In the very near future, a new FAQ is going to be compiled. This will be linked off the main page and assist in commonly asked SVX questions. Not just related to the operation of this site, but overall information. When the FAQ goes live, please edvise here any tidbits that have been forgotten and or need to be added.

Thank goodness. I think it's about time this was taken on. As some of us know there are some very serious errors and missconceptions which although seem reasonable when taken at face value were based on conjecture, have turned out not to be true, and misslead new comers to the svx community who tend to find the faq before much of anything else.

I will be more than happy to lend assistance to this effort as needed. I have a suggestion already. I'd like to see the faq done like a scientific paper would be done. I'd suggest including links to the source material. For instance when talking about ve instead of just saying ve is awesome and there is no or very little room for peak horsepower improvement without forced induction or extending rpms scan the plot of ve out of the factory service manual, make a pdf of it, and put a link to it just like you would a reference in a formal paper. When talking about fuel pump flow include a link to a popular online calculator or two and the same for fuel injectors.

This will not only make the faq more useful as a source of tools and thorough understanding but will serve the same purpose of supplying sources in a scientific paper. It makes the premises of the logical arguements transparent and readily available for review. With the sources available for public scrutiny any mistakes or inaccuracies are more likely to be caught and can easily be fixed.

I like this idea...provided we can ensure it stays accurate and up to date. I know L.A.N. has an issue with the existing FAQ

Oh good move.

Yes they need revising. We have learnt a lot more about the SVX since they were written. Some are really misleading.

I'll help where i can.
Harvey.
