Good..... So there is someone else out there that agree's with me that PASSING isn't important in Formula 1..... (Wait.... it was Chiketkd.... He was probably just post whoring.. )...
But really... I think that the FIA really needs to think this one over alittle more....

I know I'm behind the times, but I just read about Williams-BMW's lineup for 2005. Button and Webber?! Wow! I might have to start liking the funny nosed cars next year. I loved what Button has done for BAR. It'd be nice to see if BMW can challenge the red raiders next year. I feel bad for McLaren. They deserve better. And as long as ford, jag, and anything else ford sucks I'm happy!!!!

I'm a hardcore McLaren Fan... I am probably not gonna want to watch F-1 as much if they switch engines and try to slow the cars down.... The FIA is just being stupid...

Gentlemen...gentlemen
There is nothing as constant in F1 (or any other series for that matter) as change. The formula has gone through huge changes since I began watching in the 70's. Sometime it is caused by a drive for increased safety, a perceived need to level the playing field (its been done before), or new technology....or getting rid of the technology. Oh, and politics too. Engine size, supercharging, turbocharging, wings, ground effects, sucker fans, 4-6-8-10-12-16 cylinders, you name it...
http://www.sdwhite.demon.co.uk/f1/history.htm As for passing, there is passing and always has been. The networks just need to SHOW IT, as the earlier post discussed. No passing....no racing; it's as simple as that. Otherwise all you have are time trials. I'm sure PA_SVX was thrilled recently when Ferrari finally overtook another engine manufacturer for all time F1 wins.... ....Ford! Button says he is going to Williams, BAR says he must stay. Dave DeSpain says he will probably go. I'll go with Dave.... Don

Getting Hungary
Since Hungary is a very hard race for "passing", qualification will be very important. Will Michael be outqualified?
Oh, I forgot.....the passing is done in the pits. Anyway... Go Jenson! Go Kimi! Go Juan Pablo! (????) Go fast or golash! Don

Passing it up
(Someone should tell all the fans this.... It isn't NASCAR where you see cars passing each other back and forth and bumping eachother all the time. This is about Racing Precision)
Your are correct, but Nascar (and Sportsman and Sprints) are one extreme. The other extreme is removing passing completely, which even F1 has not evolved into. True, there has been no passing of a certain Ferrari this year, but there is plenty of passing back in the pack, if the media will cover it. Otherwise we should just have a qualification consisting of a fast lap, a pit stop, and another fast lap......then award the trophy to the top three based on time. Lets face it....nobody wants that. You couldn't even call it racing. ...and I don't think any change in the rules right now would make much of a dint in Ferrari's dominance. That is what a great deal of the hubbub is all about anyway. That and cost. Ferrari has the superior driver/car/tire/design/team at the moment. They would still be winning if the rules called for 3 cylinder supercharged tricycles! Don

That was one of the most boring 'races' I've ever seen. And not necesarily because Michael dominated it, again, but because nothing else happened. I mean, seeing Michael walk away with it is nothing new, but at least we've seen some interesting battles for the remaining positions throughout the season. Yesterday was just...a parade. After the first lap they pretty much stayed in exactly the same positions.
Ugh... And I introduced a friend to F1 for the first time yesterday. I feel really bad because I've been pestering the guy to come watch a race, and when he does it's a damned parade. As for the V10s, we should see them for a little while longer. Even after the switch to V8s, there are provisions in the rules for teams, which can't afford new engines, to use older V10s with a rev-limited spec ECU. Blech. I can't say I care for the direction F1 is heading.

I will agree with the boringness of the race... I woke up at 7:30am to see it after being out in Savannah, GA at the clubs till 3am... Honestly I passed out at about lap 15 and woke back up just before the race was over.... Guess I didn't really miss anything.

From what I have heard, there was plenty of action in the pack, just very poor tv coverage yet again. I think that the 1st move the FIA should make is to shake up the tv system, maybe a single company travelling the world instead of the local tv companies.
