My first wife...

Also, on a side note, a lot of people have icons and such. Anyone like me and turn off the icons?

Where's the pretty car or girl or something? Looks like your desktop is designed to be efficient and "no frills."

Dont know much about virii, but this new sasser virus is spreading like wildfire, and you dont have to open an application or view an image. The thing just attacks one computer then scans the internet for IP addresses that it may hack. Firewalls prevent it. Microsoft has a patch available online and f-secure (don't know the URL) has a tool that will tell you if you've been infected. That could be your complication.. If not, keep your eyes open...

you're quite right. maybe that's the one i got - the new sasser virus. it just came out last friday - that's when my notebook started acting weird.

meanwhile, i have the problems to go online. everytime i turn on my notebook, it has the messages like 'runtime error' and 'memory error'. the lsass.exe file is acting weird and the avserve.exe is acting up...if i removed it, it will reduce more than 80% load of my cpu usage... when i have enough time, i'll be trying to find out how to remove and fix it.

Short of a reformat, I would say your best bet is to download some sort of removal tool and try that. Hopefully, that tool will eliminate the virus. Best of luck!

lsass.exe has something to do with modem connections if I remember correctly.
It could be affected by a modem "hijack" worm.

Try to use the removal tool here http://securityresponse.symantec.com...ools.list.html

Also download an run this very good "spyware" removal program http://www.snapfiles.com/get/adaware.html

It finds MANY things that "autostarts" , danger cookies and many more things that mess your PC up.

I ALWAYS use this combination when I clean a infected PC.

I second Adaware. It is free and very effective.
