Wheel bearing
I bought a 92 off ebay a few days ago. The car is in Ma. The dealer stated in a repost that he heard a little wheel bearing noise in the right rear bearing. He said he did not notice it the first time he drove it and it is not vert noticeable. My question is will i hurt anything by driving the car back to AZ. twenty two or so hundred miles? I would like to drive it home and change the bearing after i get home. This is the first svx i have owned and have not even seen it yet. The dearler has very good feedback so i feel he is telling it like it is. He states the car runs and drives great. He said nthe trannsmission shifts great. Thanks. Jim Stanley

Should be OK, but hard to say for sure
once a wheel bearing fails completely, they can lock up and sieze. This can completely ruin your day
It's crap shoot, but with a name like gamblergw, you should know all about those, right??? Todd

Rear bearing
Hi Stanley, My first wheel bearing started to go out while on vacation in Colorado, I ended up at home in Michigan, no worse off than when I left CO. Having said that, I would have RandR'd the bearing before I left for vacation had I had a clue. One other factor would be that it is winter and the cold would probably help it live. The big negative in all this is the fact that the average wrench doesn't know about SVX bearing's. I would do the search on this site to see what the wright way to do the job is, and print it out and take it with you on the trip. Hope you have a safe trip and welcome to SVX land. Take care, BOBB
