I still will not believe it until I see a picture of the engine bay..

BTW, the wheels are on backwards.

<<A 150bhp 2567cc engine boosted go, butit was only when the motor was enlarged to a 3.3 with twin overhead camshafts and 24 valves were employed for the SVX Turbo replacement that the model really took off. 24,000 of these 144mph GTs with permanent four-wheel drive were produced 1991-1997>>

Is the guy saying that all 24,000 are twin turbo? Man I did not know I have a twin turbo SVX.

Also i emailed the aution for more info on the car, hopefully they will send some back.

I knew there would of course be people that wont believe...

I am currently trying to get in contact with the owner of the car, and see what he has to say. The car IS in the UK (if you noticed the website, and the RHD in the picture) so the production numbers will be different for the UK... That may be the total number of SVX's produced, not only turbo models.

So how much hp can you pull out from twin turbo 3.3 anyway? Somewhere around 300+?

I would love to see that done to my SVX, for free of course, I don't have that kind of money, he he.

Considering we haven't found a twin turbo SVX in japan, I highly doubt there'll be on in England. Duh.

Anyway, if you guys believe in that twin turbo SVX, I have this '50 dollar supercharger guaranteed to increase your power by 10% and your fuel mileage by 8%!!!!' nyar!

Bulls**t

They sold less than 300 SVX's in the UK. None of them were factory turbocharged.

Would you go to the expense of developing a twin turbo for that sort of market?

Saw that one in autotrader some time ago. He never replied to my emails.

Red and rare.

I was about to say Andy had not seen this, or he would be on in a flash pointing out that the wheels are mounted backwards.

Personally, I think they look better this way, wonder just how much of an effect this could have on the cooling?

This car is still on Autotrader, listed at £6000:

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW...00336109924787

At the mileage and year, it's not bad value, if sound. It would be a bargain at £4500.

It has to be a re-spray. Surely all the red cars produced post '95 were one-colour cars? Am I correct in thinking the only cars post 95 with black roof and trunk were the pearlie whites?

Just because it was first registered in 96, doesn't mean it's a 96 model year. From what I've heard some SVX's sat around unsold in dealerships for a long time.

I thought only 92's and 93's had the shiny black roof.

Phil.

Right. And this is evidence of the Tooth Fairy:

http://www.mytoothfairy.com/

Look, there was no turbo SVX offered by Subaru in any market. Get over it. We've all looked. We've all asked. Subaru themselves have told many of us that the car never existed - why can't people just let this go? The only hints at one ever existing are the remnant posts by you people who are looking for one. You do a search on Google, find a post by some idiot asking 'where can I find a turbo SVX?' and you immediately assume that one existed.

STOP IT.

I believe the European market Red SVXes have black roof. That's why I am looking for a Red one in the US so I can paint the black roof on. Also, Silver SVXes in Europe were all silver. Here in the US, it's two tone.

Right on Nick!

If there really was a twin turbo SVX, there would be part numbers and parts diagrams in the countries that had them.

The Twin turbo "Police" car has become quite the urban legend.

You are sooo assertive today.

Nick, I don't reckon they are too serious. The garage[dealer] description of the car never mentions twin or single turbo. Only the auctioneer's site. And anyone who has ever bought a house knows how creative auctioneers can be with the descriptive language.

Also, I have seen ads over the past few years from people who really believed their cars were turbo'd. More than likely because of the way the power comes in on kickdown when overtaking.

Also, I expect a lot of people who don't really know much about the car perceive it as a market competitor for the Lexus/Toyota Soarer, and the 2.5 version of that car does have twin turbos. [Dayle has one of these] Add to this the fact that everybody sees all fast Subarus that they know about as having a turbo or two, and we will keep getting this twin turbo ex factory thing.

We just gotta live with it, I guess.

Joe
